Adsorption of paper strength additives to hardwood fibres with different surface charges and their effect on paper strength

چکیده

Abstract Light-weight paper products that contain less fibres, but with a maintained bulk and improved strength properties, are highly desirable due to the low cost of raw materials logistics packaged goods. In this respect, adsorption capacity dry additives onto which is affected by surface charge said very important for development these mechanically robust products. The influence on was investigated for, dissolving grade kraft fibres modified carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) different densities, same fibre dimensions. were cationic starch (CS), anionic polyacrylamide (APAM) polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs), containing CS APAM. A linear relationship found between saturated adsorbed amount CS. However, when either APAM or PECs as secondary layers CS, no correlation saturation could be observed. dramatically pre-adsorbed whereas influenced. Moreover, tensile (60%) strain at break (> 100%) handsheets formed It also CS/APAM increased sheet density while CS/PECs lowered it. conclusion, gained fundamental understanding significant importance facilitate industrial sustainable low-cost high-end packaging Graphical abstract

Studies on fiber strength and its effect on paper properties

The objective of this work was to study factors affecting the strength of pulp fibers used in papermaking and how their strength affects the properties of the fiber network, i.e. the paper. All the structural levels contributing to fiber strength starting from the organization of cellulose chains in microfibrils through to visible defects and fiber deformations were considered. Due to its wide ...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
